The United States Lawnmower Racing Association

USLMRA

The U.S. Lawnmower Racing Association (USLMRA) is the primary governing body for lawnmower racing in the United States. The organization is based in Chicago, Illinois. Its founder and president is Bruce Kaufman.
Although lawnmower racing in the United States began in the early 1970s, it took the guidance of Bruce Kaufman to take it from its scattered small beginnings into the massive sport that it has become.  Under the guidance of Mr. Mow-it-All, Bruce Kaufman, STA-BIL became the primary sponsor of the USLMRA. That partnership has grown over the years as the sport of Lawn Mower racing has exploaded in popularity not only around the country, but throughout all of North America.
The USLMRA sanctions races in the STA-BIL National Lawn Mower Racing Series and those run by local chapters across the U.S.  The Sport has never been stronger and continues to grow from active enthusastic members wanting to push the sport to the next level.  More information on the USLMRA can be found at their offical site http://www.letsmow.com/

The USLMRA is run for racing enthusiasts and their friends. Members and affiliate racers love of competition and the camaraderie.   As they say in the USLMRA, “We don’t race for money, only trophies, glory, points and bragging rights!”  Not only is the USLMRA a lot of fun, but its also a great family activity.  Many racers also race with their family.  It’s a wholesome exciting sport that your entire family can participate in together.  What a better way to spend time with your son or daughter than working on a mower and having a ton of fun.  In a day and age where family time is scarce, Lawn Mower racing is one activity the entire family can agree on.  Since it is a family sport, saftey and sportsmanship are of primary importance to everyone involved.  Saftey rules can be found in the official USLMRA Rule Book. Have questions or need help with your tractor or those rules?  Not a problem, you can join our forum and ask any questions you have in our tech forum.

So where can you see a race?  All over the place, USLMRA races occur at fairs, festivals, non-profit events, and plenty of other places.  Would you like to host a race?  If you would, feel free to contact Bruce Kaufman himself using the official USLMRA contact form.  Want to get involved in Lawn Mower Racing?  You can use the same link to email Bruce and find out if there is a local chapter in your area you can join.

We here at MowerSport hope to have an interview with Mr. Mow-it-All in a few months.  Stay tuned for more exciting updates on the United States Lawnmower Racing Association!
